Abstract: Aimed to understand the effects of anthropogenic activities on the quality of the ground water in Liupanshui City of Guizhou Province, water samples were collected in dry and wet seasons, with their chemical composition, dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC), δ13CDIC, and strontium isotopic composition analyzed. The main ions in the groundwater were Ca2+and HCO3-, followed by Mg2+ and SO42-, being typical in karst area. The saturationindex of groundwater calcite (SIcalcite) had less change, and was negatively correlated with pCO2, suggesting that the degradation of organic pollutants affected the waterrock interaction to a certain extent. The DIC content was higher in dry season than in wet season, while the δ13CDIC did not change obviously. Isotopic and hydrochemical analyses indicated that the groundwater in town and farmland area was obviously contaminated by anthropogenic input. The 87Sr/86Sr in study area changed less, and its value in contaminated water was 0.7080. All the results suggestedthat the effects of anthropogenic input on the groundwater in Liupanshui City were dependent on the geological background, pollutant types, and hydrological conditions.
