Abstract: After studying the patterns of energy-and material flow within the urban ecosystem of Tangshan,this paper discusses the relationship between the utilization of energy and material on one hand and the environment,population and economic development on the other hand.A suggestion of regulating the consumption of energy and material is also put forward.
