Abstract: This paper deals with the prospective of ecological research on marine planktonic larva in China,and con-sists of the following three parts ： natural ecology,experimental ecology and applied ecology. In eachpart a brief account of future research problems is given. The author is of the opinion that marine ecosys-tem should be the focus of future research,in order to make further contribution to the ecology of marineplankton in general and to the ecology of marine zooplankton in particular.
