Abstract: This paper briefly introduces the production and application of turf roll at present. The authors selected six representative lawn seeds and three types of turf rolls as the trial materials on the basis of testing the characters of several popular lawn seeds in Shanghai. Through the comparative experiment between the turf roll and sowing by hands directly, the authors studied the application prospect of the turf roll in Shanghai and pointed out that it is not suitable now to make the application of turf roll popular in large size in Shanghai. Meanwhile,some constructive ideas of producing lawn in Shanghai were proposed in this paper.
