Abstract: A broad attention has been paid on the responses of soil microbial ecosystem to atmospheric CO2 enrichment. In this paper, the effects of elevated CO2 on soil microbial community structure, soil microflora, soil respiration, soil microbial biomass, and soil enzyme activities were summarized. Because of the differences in elevated CO2 experimental system, test plants, and soil characteristics, no consistent conclusions were drawn, but the effects of elevated CO2 on soil microbial ecosystem did exist.
