Soil quality and sustainable land management (SLM)

Abstract: Sustainable development of agriculture is the basis of sustainable development,which involves the successful management of resources to satisfy changing human needs while maintaining or enhancing the quality of environment and conserving natural resources.Soil quality is an important indicator of sustainable land management (SLM).This paper summarized and analyzed the recent progress of soil quality and sustainable land management,discussed the relationship between them and effects of soil quality on sustainable land management,and presented problems when using soil quality as an indicator of sustainable land management.
