Abstract: Taking two facts from Zhejiang Province as examples, the author illustrates that for the improvement and utilization of hilly lands in red soil region, it's necessary to take the biological measures as main ones, i.e.,to plant economic forests, to gradually restore the vegetation on hilly lands of red soil and take the engineering measures as coordination, making the ecology of this region equilibrated.
