Abstract: Studies show that the main pathogeny of Kaschin-Beck disease is possibly a "membrane defect" originated from the deficiency of membranous materials in food caused by a comprehensive ecological effect. The antioxidant ability of "defected" membrane is more reduced by Se-deficiency, which induces a disorder in metabolism and development of cartilage and muscle etc.
