Abstract: This paper reports the composition of rhizosphere microflora, N-fixing activity of root system, respiration rate of root and stem, and rhizosphere effect of Phragmites communis Trin. under three moisture conditions (dry, seasonal waterlogging and permanent waterlogging). Results show that in the period of vegetative growth, the total amounts of rhizosphere bacteria and N-fixing bacteria in reed field are larger under condition of seasonal waterlogging. The rhizosphere effect is significant under seasonal and permanent waterlogging. In the period of reproductive growth, N-fixing activity of rcot system under permanent waterlogging is higher. And under these three moisture conditions, respiration rate of root is stronger in the period of vegetative growth than in that of reproductive growth.
