Abstract: Tourism has been developed very rapidly in China and some environmental and ecological problems are induced. The main ones are thought to be: 1. the amounts of sightseers greatly exceed the capacity of some attractive scenic spots; 2. environmental pollutions (air-, water- and noise- pollutions) are induced; 3. inappropriate man-made activities such as reclaiming lands from lakes, quarrying from mountains, establishing inharmonious buildings and destroying vegetations are increased. The capacity of scenic spots and the countermeasures for solving above mentioned problems are discussed by the author.
