An approach to the relationship between red pine growth and illumination

  • Received:1984-01-20 Online:1985-12-10

Abstract: Observations of 10 years' artificial red pine trees show that for trees younger than 10 years old, they can grow faster under a relative illumination of 90—51% than that of 100%.A relative illumination of 50—21% starts to influence the tree growth, and that of <20% has a severe influence.A proper shield can inhibit the regrowth and branching of red pine and postpone its seeding stage.
