Abstract: Fuyang is a famous district situated in the central part of Zhejiang province.About 85% of this area is mountainous. The vegetation is dominanted by evergreen forests. There are four major types of communities:1.coniferous forest(mainly Pinus massoniana);2.broad-leaved forests;3.bamboo forest of Phyllostachy pubescens and shrub-grass land. The vegetation was severely disturbed for a long time.Closing hillsides to facilitate afforestation, planting native trees and effectively managing the remain woodlands are important for increasing the forest coverage in this area.
