Abstract: This paper is a report on the preliminary study on the ecological phenology of Chinese fir inLiluo in 1981—1983,1985.1.The periods of height-growth,DBH-growth and sap-flowcoincided with the days when the day average temperature were≥15℃、≥10℃、≥5℃.2.The starting days of the most phenological phases were mostly controlled by the temperature. However, the precipitation affected the needle seasonal phase more than temperature.3.Therhythm of littering was contrary to that of new sprout growth.Vegetative period was poor inlitters, but the dormant period was rich in litters.4.The phenological diagram of Chinesefir in Liluo was made. The regression equations of each organ growth with time were established.5.The climate extremely affected the growth of Chinese fir.the proper combination of waterand heat was the most important factor for the Chinese fir growth.
