Abstract: An anatomic observation was made of the roots of 15 genera species belonging to 10 families of monocotyledons in different eco-environments. The results showed that root structures were adaptable to the eco-environment the species located. From hydrophilous to xerophilous, the width of Casparian strip and the rate between stele diameter and root diameter increased, while the rate between total sectional areas of vessels and area of stele decreased.
