Abstract: Based on investigations of water-bodies in Songling town of Wujiang county, the relationship between major hydrological characters and water pollution, the self-purification potential of water-bodies and the impacts of water pollution on aquatic organisms and human population were discussed. Ecological evaluations of water-bodies in dense population town were made and policies for ecological amelioration were suggested.
