Abstract: Characters of wader community in the north coast of East China Sea were studied. There were 16 species belonging to 11 genera in11 sampling plots. The number of species, total individuals, diversity index and homogeneity index all showed that the structure of wader community was a homogeneous and stable one.Calidris alpine and Charadrius alexandrinus were ths dominant species of the community. With PCA(Principal Component Analysis)ordination analysis of the community characters(density and frequency),it demonstrated that this method is able to simply reflect the relationship between wader populations in the area.
