Abstract: This paper studies the natural regeneration and developing prospects of Japanese Red Pine (Pinus densiflora) forest in Shandong Peninsula. The results indicate that Japanese Red Pine forest has a strong ability of natural regeneration and is very a dapted to the ecological conditions of its distribution region. For this reason, although it is seriously harmed by two kinds of injurious insects, Japanese Red Pine forest should still be retained and developed in Shan dong Peninsula with various methods and means, such as artificial management, closing hillsides to facilitate afforestation, setting up a good ecosystem, etc.
