Abstract: An experimental study of cultivating young crab(Eriocheir sinensis) in artificial ponds revealed a linear relationship between shell length and age of young crab and an exponential relationship between its body-weight and age. The growth rate of young crab was slightly different under various ecological conditions. A positive correlation was found between the growth rate of young crab end water temperature in the suitable range of 16.5—32℃ under similar nutrient and dissolved oxygen conditions. Based on the measurement of 185 individuals, the relationship between body-weight and shell length of young crab was expressed as: W=0.4209L3.1156.
