Abstract: The niche overlap and niche volume of ten dominant species were measured on indirect ha-bitat gradients with improved formula measuring niche overlap.Niche ordination,from theoverlap matrix resulted in a r-K continuum of successional gradients,and based on it,theecological strategy of successional species was described quantitatively.
