Abstract: A brief introduction of w(?)d allelopathic researches toth in China and abroad is given, and common fiold woods with allelopathic potentials in China are listed. The utilization strategies of allelochemicals for biological control of woods and improving crop production are presented, such as management of crop sequences, utilization of allelopathic crop residues, breeding crops for weed controI and development of allelochemicals such as herbicide etc.
