Abstract: In this paper, dissipative structure theory is introduced into the area of weed control. According to the analysis of formation mechanism of high-level dissipative structure and its properties in farmland ecosystem, it is considered that the significance of weed control in this system is to form a high-level dissipative structure. Based on dissipative structure theory, some new conceptions and strategies are proposed for the systematic control of field weeds.
