Abstract: Spruce forest on sandland is a special type of terrestrial forest ecosystem, which only exists at the edge ofthe Xiaotengeli deserth Inner Mongolia, Mongolia flora is the dominant species in the forest, which also includes Xingan and North China flora,The composition of the forest is quite simple, and the arborous layer is a compound uneven-aged one.The forest not exhibit the habitat characters of mountainous darkconiferous forest, its regeneration must be achieved under shady copditions, and its succession must goon frorn psammophytic pioneer plant community stage, rhizorne grass community stage, shrub stage, andfinaly to a relatively stable spruce forest. For managing sandland spruce forest,it is imperative to solve the problems of spruce classification, natural reserve distribution, forest disease and insect pest preven-tion, and introduction and enlargement of spruce forest area, etc.
