Abstract: The role of Pinus tabulaeformis shelterbelt in redistribution of atmosphere precipitation is demonstrated by field measurements on a water balance trial field.38.3% of precipitation was intercepted by the canopy,Dominant factors influencing canopy interception are rainfall amount and rainfall intensity,The slope runoff generated was 13.7,4.17 and 3.86 percent of precipitation from bare ground, grassland and pine shelterbelt, respectively.

Key words: snow pack, freeze-thaw cycle, microbial biomass, culturable microorganisms, alpine forest.
