Abstract: The dynamic variations of soil microorganisms, enzymes, and physical and chemical propertiesduring decomposition of Pinus massoniana slashes are studied in fixed plots in Youxi,Fujian forsix years. The results show that the decomposition of slashes results in the multiplication of soilmicrcorganisms, intensification of soil enzyme activities, increase of soil nutrients and improve-ment of hydro-physical properties. At the fourth year, the decomposition of slashes is finished, with soil fertility of no-burning be improved and significantly better than that of control.

Key words: litter decomposition, Spartina alterniflora, Phragmites australis, Minjiang River estuarine wetland.
