Abstract: Through investigation on ecological conditions of coal gangue hills in Fuxin, main factors thataffect on plant succession and reclamation were found out, they were years of stopping heap, depth of surface weathering gangue and coverage of vegetation. According to those factorsgangue hills could be divided into four ecological types,In each type Amorpha fruticosa wasplanted. Observation of tree growth in different types demonstrated that this classification wasreliable and useful for the selection of species and method of planting for the reclamation.

Key words: vegetation structure, water-carbon coupling, water use efficiency, evapotranspiration, modeling.
