Abstract: The abiotic stress of alternative drying-rewetting and freezing-thawing and its effects on soil weremeasured.The results showed that a series of complex physical, chemical and biological changesin soil took place under the abiotic stress, which significantly affected on nutrient cycling in soil. The abiotic stress plays an important role in ecological succession in the areas where the stressfrequently acted on soil.
