Abstract: Data collected were analysed to evaluate effects of paulownia-wheat inter cropping on physio-logical reaction. It was found that the resistance of wheat in the noon in the intercropped fields was less than that in the control plots. Average photo synthetic rate of wheat both at the edge of tree and the middle of tree rows was increased by 8% or so compared to the control plots at middle filling stage of wheat. Increasement of photosynthetic rate and lengthenment of photo synthetic time were important reasons resulting in the ries of wheat biomass and average product. Wheat transpiration rate was decreased and water use efficiency ( WUE)was higher in the intercropped fields so that the harm of dryhot wind was lightened.
