The Ecological Connotation of Sustainability Concept and its Implication for Human Development

Abstract: This paper examined the historical development of the“sustainability”concept and compared difference of“sustainability”concepts in the different contexts of disciplines, scales, and human develo pmental values, which presents some diversified no thional partialities. In contrast with such ex isting partialities. the auther expressed an ecological definition of“sustainalibity”concept from aholistic human ecological point of view . Based on such an integrative connotation, an alternative holistic model of sustainability——ecological development, was putforward, which strongly under lined human sustainable survival and development .
