Abstract: The soil permeability in coastal protective forests with different tree species and ages were studied in the paper. The results indicated that protective forests could significantly improve soil permeability. The soil permeation amount in the forest land is increased 2 to 79 times compared with that of no vegetation land. The soil permeation amount in mature forest land is increased by 70.6% to 364.8% compared with that in young forest land.
