Abstract: The asco rbic acid cont ents of Brassica chinensis L.grown in the solution in the pr esence of different concentrations of cadmium, lead single and in combination were investigated.T he results show ed that the ascorbic acid contents decreased with the incr ement of cadmium, lead concentrations in culture so lution.T he influence of Cd on ascorbic acid was greater than that of Pb.M eanwhile, the chlorophyll cont ents decreased with the incr ease of Cd and Pb concentrations.Asignificant linear corr elation between the ascorbic acid and chlorophyll contents w as obser ved.T he decline of the ascorbic acid contents in the plants of Brassica chinensis was presented before the appearence of out ward harm symptom in the blade.
