Abstract: Based on the 2?2 contingency table and different indices, the relationships among the populations of Taxus chinensis var. mairei community on the Yuanbaoshan Mountain of China were investigated. The interconnections were described with the diagrams of semimatricy and constellations. The results showed that there was slightly positive correlation among the main tree populations from an overall point of view. The W-test indicated this correlation was not significant. The most pairs of the tree populations in the community showed either positive or negative correlations. The X2-test indicated there was almost no significance in the interspecific correlation. The interconnections were also theoreticaly analysed in the present paper.

Key words: soil fungal diversity, T-RFLP, precipitation variation, broad-leaved Korean pine mixed forest.
