Abstract: Protozoan from six stations of Lake Donghu were collected and identified. 6 taxonomic parameters, species number, diversity index(DI), percentage of phytomastigophra, community pollution value (CPV), community similarity and heterophy index(HI) were obtained and determined. The results showed that CPV and HI could reflect the changes of water quality correctly. DI could reflect the tendency of changes. The water quality status of different stations could be correctly classified by the cluster analysis.

Key words: watershed, water environment, pollution model, loading, water quality.
