Abstract: The species composition and diversity of insects in five different habitats around Zhuanshan Lake in Jilin Province were surveyed from June to October,1999-2000.Approximately 5000 specimens were collected and 230 species belonging to 11 orders,86 families and 181 genera were recognized.Shannon-weiner biodiversity index(H'),Pielou'eveness(E) and similarity index(S) were adopted to analyze the insect diversity difference in different communities. The results indicate that the abundance, biodiversity index, eveness and similarity index are distinctly different among different habitats and months. But the insect diversity, eveness and richness in plot Ⅲ is highe than other plots. This is mainly related to the biological characteristics of insects and directly affected by environmental factors.
