Abstract: This paper studied the effect of extra magnetic field and saline alkali stress on the seedling growth of Leymus chinensis. The results showed that magnetic field treatment not only improved the seedling growth of L. chinensis, but also enhanced its saline alkali tolerance. This treatment also increased its peroxidase(POD) activity, and induced an extra POD isozymic band on electropherogram. According to a comprehensive analysis, 300mT and 200mT for 10 minutes were determined as the optimum magnetic field intensity on L. chinensis seeds.
