Abstract: In this paper, the fire regime of Aneurolepidium chinense-herbage steppe is studied and adevised method is used to study the fire cycle of treeless grassland. The results show thatgrassland fire often occurs in May and October, the natural fire cycle is 4 years, and theman-made one is 25 years. The herbaceous layer on grassland is burned by the fire.andthe burned dung of livestocks is the major factor affecting the internal pattern of burnedarea. The ecological implications of phenomena produced by burning are discussed and thefire-generated factors are definited.
