Abstract: This paper reviewed the studies on the movement ways,i.e.,infiltration, phreatic evaporation, ground water recharge and interflow,of unsaturated and saturated soil water in forest catchments, and introduced the present advances in soil hydraulic parameters, including soil water characteristic curve, and unsaturated and saturated soil hydraulic conductivity.Research directions in the future were also proposed.
