Abstract: As a major environmental stress, starvation greatly and extensively affects crustacean in ecophysiological aspects. In this paper, the existing information on the ecophysiological responses of crustacean to starvation, including development and survival, metabolism, digestive gland and enzyme, body composition, and recovery growth was summarized, and on the basis of these, the future research directions,i.e.,the compensatory growth and its mechanism, and the relationship between starvation and immunocompetence, were proposed.
