Abstract: Studies of the different pathways of N Joss from plant-soil system are highly important for increasing the efficiency of soil N and decreasing the environmental contamination. This paper is the first report on the N2O emission from some plants (e. g. soybean, maize, rice and alder), and points out the emission rates of N2O being related to the plant species or their organs. Possible implications of the N2O emission from plants are discussed.
