Abstract: Frankia strains were isolated from nodules of newly recorded actinorhizal tree species grown at different localities of China. The species are Alnus mandshurica(Call.)Hand-Mazz., Hippophae rhamnoides var. porcera Rehd., Elaeagnus oxycarpa Schlecht., E. multiflora Thunb., E. stallipila Rehd., E. gonyanthes Benth., E. bockii Diels., E. moorcroftii Wall., E. crispa Thunb., E. viridis var. delavayi Lec. and E. mollis Diels. Using optical and electronic microscopes, morphological characteristics of Frankia strains were studied and collections of illustrative plates were photographed.
