Ecosystem services and corresponding protective strategies

Abstract: This paper expounded the definition,meaning,and research status of ecosystem services, compared the services of natural and artificial ecosystem, and put forward the protective strategies and approaches of ecosystem services. Ecosystem services are those ecosystem products and functions that contribute to human survival and its life quality. The opening of ecosystem is the basis and premise of ecosystem services.There are many obstacles,such as limitation of knowledge scale and lower living standard,in the protection of ecosystem services.Distinct differences exist between natural and artificial systems,the latter having no buffers and insurance.Non governmental behavior,governmental behavior,and economic instruments are the strategies and approaches to protect ecosystem services.Ecosystem services which must be protected strictly are vital to the sustainable utilization of the earth and the sustainable development of human society.
