Abstract: 14 species of crops in 8 families were found having a significant interspecific difference in Cd tolerance. Gramineous crops have a higher tolerance than vegetables. The tolerance is less related to the Cd content of crops, but negatively related to its proportion accumulated in their aboveground parts. After treated with Cd,crops with different strength of cadmium tolerance changed some of their physiological metabolisms in different ways.
