Abstract: The studies show that under exposure to SO2 and simulated acid rain spinach leaf contains less chlorophyll, its MDAcontent and conductivity are increased, and leaf ageing is accelerated. The SODactivity is decreased with increasing pH, and lossed by 50% at pH3.6 for SO2 and simulated acid rain and at pH2.8 for simulated acid rain. The SODactivity of spinach leaves exposed to simulated acid rain is higher than that to SO2 and simulated acid rain.
